Wag’s Creations Giveaway
Mar 29th
Yay, It’s Monday and you know what that means, another amazing Handmade Company and another super giveaway to go with it. When I did a call out on Facebook last week to announce we had a few spots open at the end of the week for Giveaway’s I was so happy when Susan from Wag’s Creations contacted me. After checking out her amazing shop and all the different kinds of merchandise that she makes I just knew our readers would love so much about this store. Wag’s Creations offers everything from Magnets (you know how I love them) to Custom Made Candy Jars to reflect your favorite sports team. I love custom anything and Wag’s Creations offers many items ready for customization. Hooray! I am going to share with you a few of the items that I am most yearning for from Wag’s Creations.
The first item that caught my eye while I was browsing Wag’s Creations was these amazings Book Frames. I have never in my life seen a Book Frame before, I was interested so I read into it. These frames are made out of real old books, breathing new life into them! I think these would be amazing to sit on a bookcase which I just happen to have (and it’s looking pretty bare). These frames hold a 4×6 photo and come in two styles, the Black and Gold Fleur De Lis that is in the picture and also a pretty Blue and Silver Cross design that is very pretty and elegant. As the binding on the book is visible you can even choose to have a custom frame made with a book of your choice (Catch in the Rye come to mama). I love that these can be customized but I really do love the Fleur De Lis Book Frame. They come with a set of four picture corners to use to attach your photo.
Another one of the products from Wag’s Creations that really caught my eye for it’s sheer unique quality was the amazing set of Domino Necklaces that Wag’s offers. Now I’ve seen my fair share of Scrabble Penant Necklaces while browsing Etsy but never have I seen a Domino Penant Necklace. And I sware Susan made these for me because they are decorated with quotes, I LOVE me a good quoted item! My favorite is this What You Are Domino Necklace, it features the Thomas Edison Quote, “What you are will show in what you do.” I love this, it spoke to me.
Before I tell you about the wonderful items Wag’s Creations has offered our readers a chance to win today I wanted to share with you one last item that I really like. Wag’s has some of the most amazing coasters ever. They are made from tumbled tile which absorbs moisture like nobodies business. I have a tumbled tile moisture absorber thing for the cup holder in my car but I didn’t even know they made full sized coasters in this. I want! We currently fight over two coasters in my house and if one of us has say more then one beverage it’s a brawl. I really like the Cherish Coasters the best. I think these would make an amazing wedding gift too, believe me the happy couple will use coasters. There are many other designs to choose from and some even feature quotes (just in case you are obsessed like I am).
Now to share with you the items that you lucky folks will have the pleasure of entering to win! Susan from Wag’s Creations is just such a sweet lady. I’m so glad that I had the oppurtunity to work with her on this giveaway. She has generously offered our readers a set of 3 of her Letters, you may be wondering what these are and I will tell you. These Letters are 10 inches and made from Wood then coordinated with pretty paper (which can also be customized, don’t ya just love that?), they are beautiful and look like they are amazing quality too. I would hang these on a wall or perhaps sit on a shelf. Wag’s Creations offers these letters in single and bulk pricing ranging from $12.99 for one up to $32 for three and then only $10 each after that, I think that’s one great deal. I go to craft fairs quite often and have seen wooden letters that were nowhere as beautiful as these and much more expensive. These would be great for a nursery or childs room too, I’m sure Wag’s could customize these to match your theme.
Today one lucky reader will win a set of Three Letters of their choice from Wag’s Creations (a $32 value wow).

The Kit Place-Review and Giveaway
Mar 22nd
I was overjoyed when Stephanie from The Kit Place contacted me to host a Review/Giveaway for her amazing crafty kits. I am but a bored housewife most of the time so a change in my routine and a chance to do something hands on sounded very appealing. I could barely contain myself when I recieved this Garden of Flowers craft kit in the mail. Probably so much so that I didn’t take the proper care in making sure the paint was secure before getting busy (My kitten and I both learned a valuable lesson and he got his first bath).
Anywho, the first thing I noticed upon opening my The Kit Place box was how wonderfully everything was packaged and just how generous these kits truly were. I don’t often make a habit of saving the wrapping from packages but the ribbon on my kit was amazing and I carefully removed it and stashed it away. In my kit was enough craft material to fully customize my flowers and plenty of paint that I was able to mix colors which I loved, I haven’t mixed paint since art class in high school. What fun! The craft materials in this kit were not only plentiful but also really good quality. I was shocked at how cute the flower cutouts were and the brush that was included is a wonderful paint brush that I am definitly going to be reusing. This Garden of Flowers Kit came with the following items: pots, acrylic paint, stencils, paper and patterns for various flowers, stem wire, and ideas for making flowers and pots.
One of the suggestions for ideas for this kit was to put cupcakes inside the pot which I thought was a wonderful idea. I think this kit would be just wonderful for a childs birthday party craft idea or simply to purchase for a gift or rainy day. I know when I was a younger girl I would have loved to recieve one of these. I remember being obsessed with Lisa Frank Art Kits and they were not nearly as neat as this kit. It makes me wish I knew a little girl to gift one of these to, I’m thinking my sister she is twelve but I think even pre-teens would enjoy customizing this kit and using it as decoration in their bedrooms.
The Kit Place offers many other amazing kits for the ultimate in handmade products, stuff you make on your own. Another of the kits I had my eye on is The Pirate Hunt Kit (because I love pirates hehe). The Pirate Hunt Kit would be so great for a little boy! It includes materials to make your own pirate costume and supplies to create a treasure hunt of your very own. I think the thing that appeals to me the most on this kit is that it includes stencils to make your own iron on transfers which would be great for a party. Speaking of party, The Kit Place offers amazing pricing on kits for 8 guests to make these crafts. This makes party planning really easy, you couldn’t buy party favors, games, and prizes for what these costs and your guests will have something memorable to take with them. Why did they not make things like this when I was younger?
So what if you don’t have little kids? Well The Kit Place offers amazing gift kits including the Wedding Stress Kit which is less of a craft kit and more of a lifesaver. This kit comes complete with: A First Aid Kit, Packing List, Advil, Hem Tape, Packing List, Sewing Kit, Tide To Go stick, Mints, Toothpaste and a Toothbrush. A great bridal shower gift if I do say so myself. Or how about the College 101 Kit that has many essentials for the soon to be big man (or lady) on campus. I really love the idea behind these two kits!
And now for the good part: The Kit Place has graciously offered up the Garden of Flowers, the same kit I recieved to review, to one lucky The Handmade Guru reader!
To Enter: Visit The Kit Place and come back here and leave a comment telling us which kit you would like to try. Please make sure to leave an email address on your post so we have a way of contacting you if you win.
