Paper Goods
Paper and Cake
Jun 16th
So yesterday I mentioned that the 4th of July is right around the corner and ever since then I’ve been seeing little things on Etsy that are just a must have for the blog. I need to help you all organize your event with the cutest stuff out there. Believe me, there’s a lot of cute stuff. I searched for hours yesterday looking at fun things but I think the biggest must have for your party is a festive table scape.
Thankfully Paper and Cake has done most of the work for us and you can purchase a package from them for only $13.95 and have access to a whole slew of printable party items. It includes everything from customizable invites, to cupcake wrappers, and pennant banners. There’s 13 items total that you will be able to obtain and print off just for your get together. Just print out as many as you need…and voila…it’s a party! It’s recommended to print on heavy cardstock, unless otherwise noted. This is such a fabulous idea! It makes me want to get all crafty and stuff.
Dena By Design
May 13th
For the past few days between working I’ve been working on my resume. Resume’s hare hard work! It’s been a long time since I’ve worked for anyone but myself. I feel rather odd bringing a resume in when the only real work experience I had was in dentistry many years ago and then again for myself. I won’t count what I did in high-school. It’s just really odd. I’m looking for something low key and easy so that I can still be available for the boys and not have to work too late at night but also still pay the bills and take care of my kids on my own.
I wish I had seen Dena By Design before I spent a whole day working on my own resume. This shop on Etsy, has a custom resume design package for sale. This is absolutely perfect for someone who’s really looking to have their resume stand out in a pile of resumes. What’s also cool about this package she has for sale is that it comes with thank you cards that you can send out after an interview to not only thank the company that interviewed you but also remind them that you’re interested in the position. That’s such a clever idea!
Cross your fingers for me! I needed a job yesterday!
Greeting Card Goodness with Botaniquills
May 12th
I was inspired to write todays column by looking through all the lovely greeting cards I’ve recieved in the past month from family and friends. I love getting mail and love even more when it’s a pretty card that I can display on top of my bookcase to reflect upon daily. I’m totally guilty of leaving said cards up there for weeks at a time but ah’ well it makes me happy. I love sending greeting cards too but it seems that the really great cards are so very expensive. This drove me on a search of Etsy to find a greeting card seller that had reasonably priced amazing cards. I found Botaniquills and couldn’t stop myself from smiling as I browsed the wonderful cards they have to offer.
My favorite card from Botaniquills is this lovely Quilled Flower Greeting Card Hot Pink and Lime. I love the textures, colors, and the flowers on it are just so great. Botaniquills uses a method to make their greeting cards called paper quilling, which is the art of using strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to make decorative designs. I remember doing something similar to this is art class but never had results this stunning. To get the full effect of all the wonderful cards and other paper goods from Botaniquills you really must browse their shop, you will be blown away I promise.

McIntosh Designs

I apologize for my absence! The blog certainly feels it when me or the other writers aren’t around. Last week the twins were on Spring Break and I basically ran around like a chicken with my head cut off. Of course on top of all that it poured down rain the entire time so they have cabin fever and there’s was nothing to do unless I took them out and did stuff. Motherhood comes 1st right?
I did have the chance to learn about a few new businesses during my time however. Since I know how many of us are cupcake fans when I found McIntosh Designs I immediately bookmarked the shop so that I could come back this week and show off their seriously cool cupcake cards. These are cute mini cupcake cards each measuring 4 inches tall and 3 inches wide made from handmade cut card stock paper. They can be made into tags for birthday parties too! Such a cute idea!
