Yevgenia
Jul 26th
My absence has been missed I’m sure. I’ve been so busy I couldn’t tell which way was up. I’m happy to say that I’m still well and alive and I’m back extra early this morning to bring you a fun find that I made extra early this morning.
I’m usually not out of bed this early in the morning but I had a bit of trouble sleeping last night so when I did wake up I decided that although I’m not a coffee girl I was going to need coffee in order to make it through the day. My need for coffee allowed me to find Yevgenia and their cool eco friendly ceramic coffee cups.
This ceramic cup with silicon lid is eco-friendly alternative to sipping coffee or tea on the go! Just a bit of hot water and soap will keep this cup in good shape! Such an excellent way to help the environment!
The Secret ‘Stache
Jun 9th
Well, yesterday was eventful. Not only did buy myself an entire new wardrobe but I also got myself a job interview with a dentist office I’d really like to work for. On top of all that some guy decided that he’d rob a coffee stand nearby me and go on the run. Let’s just say that the cops will no longer need to put together a case on him because he’s heading straight to the morgue. Nice right? Desperate times call for desperate measures? No one will ever know because he’s not around to say what his motives were. I guess that’s just how it goes.
Coffee stands are apparently the new target for thieves. They are easy to hit. They don’t have surveillance and you can get away pretty quickly. I think I’ll stick to having my coffee at home. Thankfully for me I’m one step ahead of the game and I found the coolest coffee mugs at The Secret ‘Stache. The purple mug is right up my alley! The mustache is just darling and having it on the mug would make it a must have when the girls come over for coffee. I’m sure it’d be the first one people tried to snag.

The Sickly Crowd
May 7th
Ah’ Allergy Season. I dread this time every spring when the pollen count is high and I always happen to catch something. It’s weird how I can go all through winter with but a few sniffles but get a horrible illness this time of year. I am not the only one at The Handmade Guru feeling down, Kim and Heather and sick too! We are a lively bunch right now I assure you.
When I am sick I like nothing more then to settle in with my blanket, pillow, and a cup of hot tea to cure my woos. It occured to me today that I don’t have many mugs for tea. I guess mugs are one of those things you don’t consider purchasing and just sort of acquire. So I went on the hunt for a cute handmade mug that I enjoy.
Bellajoy Pottery on Etsy has some amazing mugs and other great pottery pieces. My favorite was this Mug by bellajoy. I love the colors and the size and shape of this mug. Perfect for holding while I am babying myself on the couch. This mug is made from porcelin and microwave and dishwasher safe. Love it!
Celebrate May: National Gifts From the Garden Month
Apr 30th
May is National Gifts from the Garden Month, I’m sure I am not the only one out there who awaits nice weather so they can get fresh produce. I used to plant a garden before we lived in an apartment and I loved getting my hands dirty and having fresh produce to show for it. Now I buy most of my produce from Farmers Markets, I love supporting local growers. I decided in celebration of the upcomming month I would share with you some of the best things on Etsy I’ve found for gardener lovers like myself.

These wonderful Custom Copper Plant Markers are from Takit on Etsy. I have always wanted a herb garden and this would be actually something I have room for in my small outdoor space. This set comes with a set of ten copper plant markers that you can customize with whichever plant names you need and ten galvanized steel posts for hanging them on. I think at $28 this is an incredible value, especially for something customized.

When I first saw these I just knew I had to share them, no they are not “from the garden” per say but I feel they would be a wonderful Garden Party favor gift. These Vintage Floral Seed Packet Cookies from Queen of Tarts Cakes look incredibly real, at first glance I even though they were seed packets. These yummy Tahitian Vanilla Sugar Cookies come in a set of 6 and you can choose whichever packet design you would like from a selection of 12. These are amazing, it would be so hard to eat these.

This last piece in my “Gifts from the Garden” collection post should come as no surprise to many of you. I am really into repurposed items. It just amazes me that something that may otherwise end up in the landfill is given a new life in somthing functional and alot of the time really freakin’ cool! I love this Repurposed Teacup Birdfeeder from Redesigned by K on Etsy. You can use the cup for either seed or water, how cute would it be to watch a bird splash around in this? You can even use this for a small potted plant. PVC pipe is attached to the bottom of this planter to stick in your garden, I like this idea better then a wooden stake, it’ll withstand the constant rain here.
And there you have it folks, my mini-collection of Great Gifts from the Garden. Happy May (well almost)!
