Jo Arty Jo

It’s late but I’d be a damn fool to not share this awesomeness with you. Which awesomeness may that be? Why Jo Arty Jo!

I love the coloring books. I want a few of the prints but I especially have my eye on the ACEO cupcake. Yeah, so? I’m a cupcake lover. If it has an owl, a cupcake, or is absolutely insanely unique I’m down. The minute I saw this cupcake I had to have it. Too bad my bank account says I can’t. One day I will though! Oh yes, one day it will be mine!

Damn I found another cuppy cake I want too now. I’m doomed! When I’m rich and famous Bethenny Frankel style I’ll buy 10 of these and share with you. Promise!

Queen of De Tile

If you’re looking for something awesome for your mom this Mother’s Day you need to visit Queen of De Tile… like YESTERDAY!

Queen of De Tile is the brain child of Kim Keane, one of handmade’s newest. The shop features modern handmade ceramic coasters in a fun variety of styles. It opened in March of 2012 and they are are already well on their way to being part of the cream of the crop. Almost 25 sales in a month!

My favorite set of coasters is the Cherry Blossom coasters. I love how the turquoise pops off the screen! I can only imagine how these would look like in my home. There’s pretty much something for everyone. The best part? You can get a set of 4 coasters for under $20 and that includes shipping. Don’t see something that catches your eye? They accept custom orders! Go take a peek and tell them I sent you.

Loosetooth.com

It was an absolutely beautiful weekend in Washington state this past weekend. I was thrilled that the kids were going to be home from school and that I could take two days off from the job searching and enjoy the sunshine. Saturday we packed up a picnic and headed to our local speedway to watch a family friend’s 8 year old drive his midget race car. Those little kids are so adorable! I can’t believe how quick they haul in their cars. It was great to lay out the blanket and let the kids run around while my mom and I sprawled out in the sun and soaked it all in. After a few hours we decided to pack it up and head home. Boy, am I glad we did. I was completely fried from the sun! I’ve been miserable ever since!

At Loosetooth.com on Etsy there’s this Sunburn Gocco print that perfectly describes what I look like right now. I literally laughed out loud when I saw it. I resemble a lobster just like the girl on the print. My neck and shoulder’s hurt the worst! This shop has the coolest prints that are hand drawn by Brandy Agerbeck. Go check them out!

I am leaving for vacation tomorrow and we are traveling to Gatlinburg, Tennessee to do some hiking and sight-seeing.  I thought I would use Etsy Shop Local to see what fine crafters hail from where I will be spending all of next week (with very limited Internet access, so you will not be seeing me on here):

Beach Grass Cottage

Yesterday was Mother’s Day for those of you who didn’t already know. I’m sure not many of you considering my entire Facebook all day long was full of people wishing each other a Happy Mother’s Day over and over. I decided to not be part of the cool kids club and just not say anything at all. I’ve been miserable for 7 days straight and I wasn’t feeling particularly festive.

I took the kids to the beach in the morning even though my chest is full of crud. I could barely breathe as we were hiking down to it. The hike back up was even worse. The kids had a blast though and that’s all that matters. We collected shells and played with the baby crabs and starfish. I picked Beach Grass Cottage to feature this morning after my experience yesterday. They have these really cool sand dollar shell magnets that my boys would adore. We could probably even do them ourselves if we went sand dollar hunting at the beach but that takes lots of time and patience. Both of which my kids don’t have.
