Accessories
Carrie Bilbo

I’m a sucker for accessories. I’m a less is more type gal. I like simple. I know. I know. I’ve said this a million times on this very blog. I’m just trying to reiterate my preferences.
You wouldn’t believe how excited I was to discover Carrie Bilbo yesterday. Nylon Magazine described Carrie’s work as “ridiculously edgy and chilling, but also impeccably crafted and wearable.” I couldn’t help but agree!
It was love at first sight for me and the small blue druse ring. It’s made hand fabricated sterling silver ring with a really unique and beautiful bezel set light aqua blue druse quartz over crysocolla stone. Such a simple beauty! It would go with just about anything and be such a perfect everyday ring for me. I’m swooning and only wish I had the $150 to make this purchase. What a stunner!
Bonnie’s Knitting

It’s a blustery one in Washington today. Here I thought I was going to see sun all week. That’s what I get for listening to those silly weather forecasters on tv. The past few mornings I’ve woken up and seen sun shining through my windows but not this morning. It’s back to dark and gloomy.
I’m on the look out for a great hat and when I found Bonnie’s Knitting I instantly pulled out my credit card and started to shop. My heart is weak for a shop full of retro hats. I actually saw a bunch of hats in this style last week at a big box retailer but I refrained from purchasing because I like quality. You find quality with handmade.
My favorite is the vintage houndstooth one. I thought it was a black and white one and almost instantly bought it but upon enlarging the item discovered it was a dark hunter green and had to draw back. I’m still totally gaga for it though!
This is a 1920s style cloche made with a vintage wool blend in dark pine green and white. The houndstooth check is very bold and retro. The wool is quite soft and almost fuzzy as you can see in the photos. This is a medium to heavy weight wool and would be great for fall and winter.

Spoiled Royal Girls

Every Wednesday night I have a special dinner with my girlfriend Crystal. She’s a stay at home mom to 2 month old boy girl twins and a 2 year old little girl. Her husband is a project manager for a large local corporation and works in California so she doesn’t get much adult time. I can count on Wednesday’s as a good time because we like to let loose with a few drinks, do some heavy girl talk, and just hang out.
Last night we headed to Red Robin for dinner and then off to the casino so spend money I didn’t have. Crystal knows this local casino. I’d never really done slots before so it was exciting and fun. We grabbed and beer and headed to the penny slots. I stuck my 1st 20 dollar bill in and bam! I won 72 dollars! I can see how that would get seriously addicting.
At Spoiled Royal Girls I found a cool slot machine tile pendant in honor of my big win and first casino experience. Right now you can buy 3 pendants and get 1 for free. Happy shopping!

Someone must have been hearing my prayers! The sun is finally supposed to start shining this weekend. I get so jealous when I read all the posts on Facebook and Twitter from people all over the US who are already in their pools and having dinner on their patio’s at night. Here in wonderfully rainy Washington it’s done nothing but rain. Usually we have a great June, July, and August but it doesn’t appear to be doing that this year. Here’s to 75+ all weekend long!
The sun motivated me to feature some earrings from Mindy G Jewelry Boutique. This Etsy shop is rocking lots of super cute stuff but I had to go with the Lemonade Coin Pearl earrings in honor of the hot sun blasting through my office windows. As Rachel Zoe would say, I die! They are dainty and look very light weight. Most importantly, they are a bright fiery color perfect for summer! Get on the bandwagon ladies!
